The police continued to tap a person, despite the prosecutor having decided that the tapping should be paused, now the authority is being criticized by the Security and Integrity Protection Board.

A prosecutor had decided that the secret surveillance of a person would be paused. When she later made a decision to resume it again, she was informed that the police had already begun to resume the surveillance, reports Dagens Juridik.

The police stated that they had resumed the surveillance on their own initiative due to new information. They intended to notify the prosecutor about this afterwards.

According to the Security and Integrity Protection Board, they should have contacted the prosecutor before the decision was made and the board is therefore directing criticism at the Police Authority's handling of the case.
