The man, who instead of being extradited is now released on his own recognizance, was arrested in Poland at the end of September. He is one of several people who have been identified as responsible for the explosions in the Baltic Sea three years ago.
Previously, another Ukrainian has been arrested in Italy. In September, a court decided that he should be extradited to Germany, which is handling the legal aftermath of the attack off Bornholm in 2022.
However, the extradition was appealed – and this week, Italy's Supreme Court decided that he should not be extradited either.
