Miami won away with 124–103 and took their sixth straight win in the battle to reach the playoffs.
NBA rookie Pelle Larsson got – for the third match in a row – to play around half an hour and 16 points is tied for a personal best in one match.
Took away the star
We have really taken steps defensively. Especially in man-to-man play, says the 24-year-old in an interview after the match.
Larsson also accounted for four assists, took four rebounds, and made two out of three three-point attempts. He has now scored 14–15–16 points in his last three matches.
Against Boston, he largely took away the big star Jayson Tatum, who stayed at 16 points. During the season, Tatum has averaged 27 points per match.
He is a very good player and can score points in many ways, says Larsson.
The Swede is again praised by coach Erik Spoelstra.
He has put in a lot of work. His offensive play is just getting better and better, says Spoelstra.
The reigning champions in Boston had nine straight wins before Miami came to visit. The Florida team has now won six in a row after a tough streak of ten straight losses and has set an NBA record.
Chasing the playoffs
It is the first time in league history that a team has won six straight matches with a double-digit margin against opponents after coming from a losing streak of ten matches or more, according to news agency AP.
Miami is eighth in the Eastern Conference and is fighting to reach the playoffs (teams 7–10).
Next up is Memphis at home on Friday night, Swedish time.
