Even a possible reconciliation between the rival Palestinian organizations is on the agenda, reports Spanish EFE.
The release of hostages taken after Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7 last year will also be addressed.
The talks are taking place under the supervision of Egyptian mediators. The Islamist extremist group Hamas is led by Khalil al-Hayya, formally the acting leader of the movement.
A high-ranking official in Hamas tells the news agency AFP that they are open "to all ideas and proposals" that lead to an end to the war, Israel's withdrawal from Gaza, the return of displaced persons, humanitarian aid, and serious agreements on prisoner exchange.
Hamas and al-Fatah are reportedly united in their view that Gaza and the West Bank must be discussed jointly in future negotiations.
