The special edition is published as a symbol of the growing censorship around the world. The book has been produced by the Dawit Isaak library in Malmö, which is named after the journalist who has been unjustly imprisoned for the longest time, the Swedish-Eritrean Dawit Isaak. A total of 20 copies of the edition exist.
"We want to highlight the danger of censorship and illustrate the absurdity that is happening in the world right now. The right to read what you want is not just about the individual book - it's about the right to think and feel freely", says Jasmina Dizdarevic Cordero, head of the Dawit Isaak library, in a press release.
"Banned Books Week" is organized for the third year in a row in Sweden, and is coordinated by Swedish PEN and the Dawit Isaak library.
