The accident initially caused a total stop in the direction towards Denmark. Now, two lanes in each direction are open to traffic.
Due to restrictions, the speed is however reduced to 50 kilometers per hour. Vehicles heavier than 100 tons and wider than 3.75 meters will not be able to pass the restrictions.
According to the Öresund Bridge, traffic is expected to return to normal from 18.00.
The trains over the bridge have also had problems during the day. Several train departures between Malmö and Copenhagen have been cancelled since Monday evening. The reason is a series of faults discovered during a routine inspection two weeks ago.
We have worked on rectifying the faults and now two faults remain. They are track switches on Pepparholm and movement joints on the bridge. The time limit for rectifying the faults has expired, and then the regulations are such that you have to reduce the speed until it is rectified, says Johan Nord, deputy facility manager at the Öresund Bridge.
Until next Tuesday, the Öresund Bridge expects that only two trains per hour with reduced speed will be able to run. Normally, five trains per hour run and Skånetrafiken has therefore set up replacement buses.
We have an ambition to have it rectified after Easter, says Johan Nord.
