The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon on a road leading into the area of LKAB's mining operations in Kiruna.
An ambulance and rescue services were called and the injured person was taken to hospital.
The man is "employed by one of our contractors," LKAB's press service wrote in an email to TT.
Region Norrbotten announced later in the afternoon that the man is seriously injured and being treated in intensive care.
The workplace accident will be reported and investigated according to routine, LKAB wrote.
