One doesn't mess with Skellefteå's supporters. Coach Robert Ohlsson got an earful, a year after the controversy that cost him his job. He got the last word, however. Frölunda won with 3–2. It was fun to be back, he says to TV4 Play.

Frölunda is under Ohlsson's leadership SHL's sharpest team so far into the SHL season. It went well for a long time in Skellefteå as well, but just half a year after the SM gold in the spring of 2024, he got fired. The triggering factor was a thoughtless statement in the so-called heat of the battle.

I don't care about the supporters, was the answer to the question of how the criticism from outside affected him.

Ohlsson apologized, but the damage was done.

A bit of prestige

Now he was back in Skellefteå.

It's important to win all matches, but of course, it's a bit of prestige for my part. It feels a bit expected, a bit tense, he said to TV 4 Play before the match.

It's about not being affected and doing what I should do with my group.

He - and the group - managed that excellently, despite the boos when Ohlsson was zoomed in on the big screen.

Jere Innala, in his 100th regular season match for the club, tapped in Frölunda's leading goal in play 5 against 4 at the end of the sleepy first period. Theodor Niederbach scored 2-0 directly after having cleared a numerical disadvantage halfway into the middle period.

The evening's highlight and the nail in the coffin: Linus Högberg's solo run which ended with a backhand to 3-0.

It was pretty nice, you have to say, says Högberg to TV4 Play.

Nerves at the end

Important also because Andreas Johnson and Oscar Lindberg gave the match new nerves, but Frölunda held on to the seventh three-pointer out of eight possible.

We fought and held on all the way, says Robert Ohlsson.

Otherwise from the evening's round:

+ For Brynäs, who opened the season surprisingly weak, the cork came out at home against Timrå. 3-0 after seven minutes. In focus: defender Johannes Kinnvall with a goal and two assists. Brynäs won 5-2.

+ Djurgården's Anton Frondell offered a so-called Zorro goal. He equalized to 3-3 but Rögle went on to 5-3 in the final period.

+ HV71 seems to have gotten things in order. 2-0 at home against Färjestad was the second straight win after a dismal season start.

+ Another corpse that lives is Linköping. 2-0 away against Luleå was the second win of the season and now even the bottom team LHC has contact upwards in the table.

+ Malmö made 3-2 against Örebro and Växjö 3-0 against Leksand.
