Norwegian police warn of spies at the annual Arctic Frontiers conference in Tromsø. "We must assume that there are participants at this conference who do not wish Norway well," says Gunnar Fugelsø, head of the PST, Norway's security service.

The meeting in northern Norway this week brings together 1,300 participants from 37 countries for discussions about research and geopolitics in the Arctic region.

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and several Norwegian ministers, as well as EU Foreign Affairs Chief Kaja Kallas and Canadian Governor General Mary Simon, will participate.

"An entire 'value chain' of research, politics, security and social life is gathered here, and it is interesting for foreign actors to gain insight and make contacts," says Fugelsø.

He explains that PST has plainclothes personnel at the conference.
