It was in June that Camilla Herrem told that she had been affected by breast cancer and will undergo a three-month long chemotherapy treatment.
In an interview with TV2, Herrem opens up about playing Sola's season premiere against Oppsala in the Norwegian league on Sunday.
What she is going through is inhuman. I think she will play the season premiere without her hair having come back and the treatment being completed, says Randi Gustad, chairman of the Norwegian handball association.
She needs to find joy in her daily life. If it means that she should play handball, if it suits her family situation, it's fantastic.
Marta Barka, teammate in Sola, says that Herrem's illness message came as a shock.
It's a message nobody wants. Camilla is extremely important for the team, both on and off the pitch, says Barka.
She is a tough one. I'm so glad that I got to play in the same team as her. I wish that for everyone.
Camilla Herrem is one of Norway's best handball players of all time. She has among other things won two Olympic Games and four World Championship gold medals. She retired from the national team after the European Championship last year.
