"The death sentences for nine members of the Daesh group were carried out after confirmation by Iran's Supreme Court", reports the Iranian judiciary's own news service Mizan, which uses the Arabic acronym for IS.
According to the charges, the men were planning to carry out terrorist attacks on civilians. They were arrested after a deadly clash with the Revolutionary Guard in 2018.
The accused have, according to Mizan, received a fair trial.
In a separate case, the judiciary also reports that two men have had their hands amputated after being convicted of theft several times.
Recently, Iran's police chief Ahmad-Reza Radan announced that the fight against theft of handbags and mobile phones is a "priority that the police will handle firmly".
