It is getting closer to the party leader election in The Liberals. On Tuesday, the party will choose who will take over after Johan Pehrson at an extra national meeting. And on the same day, the newly elected L-leader will hold a speech on the Almedalen stage in Visby.

But so far, the election committee has not presented its candidate. Previous notice was that it would happen in the middle of this week, which has not happened.

Nina Larsson does not answer a straight no to the question of whether she wants to become party leader.

It is not current. I thrive incredibly well as Minister for Employment and Gender Equality, and I hope to be able to continue with that, she says to journalists in the Riksdag.

Have you been asked by the election committee?

The election committee has talked to many people. There are many potential candidates in that process, says Nina Larsson.

According to information in several media, the election committee has problems finding a willing candidate. Several of the favorite candidates are reported to have declined. This applies to the Minister for Climate and Environment Romina Pourmokhtari and the Minister for Education Lotta Edholm, but also the former Minister for Integration Erik Ullenhag.
