Bernie Parent is considered one of the best goalkeepers in the NHL of all time.
When Philadelphia Flyers took two straight Stanley Cup titles in 1974 and 1975, Parent was named both the playoffs' best player and the NHL's best goalkeeper both years. Flyers were mythical as a team that played tough ice hockey and came to be called the "Broad Street Bullies".
Bernie Parent was one of the big profiles and adorned the cover of Time Magazine in 1975.
He was elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1985.
The Canadian, born in Montréal, was forced to end his NHL career after 13 seasons in 1979 after getting a stick in his eye. He became 80 years old.
