"The US has been clear with us and said they do not want to see our supporters," says Julien Kopuadio Adonis, chairman of the national football team's supporters' organization.
It deeply pains us that they prevent us from fulfilling our duty to support our team.
He says that they still expect around 1,000 supporters who live in the United States at the matches against Ecuador, Curaçao and Germany.
The United States has required fans from Algeria, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Tunisia to pay deposits of up to $15,000 to obtain visas. The United States later announced that an exemption would be made for fans from participating countries who already have tickets and have signed up for a visa priority system.
