Housing manager SBC has driven the issue in court, for many associations that rent out premises to VAT-liable businesses, this is about large sums of money.
Now the verdict has come, which among other things means that housing associations that rent out premises with business activities can deduct a larger part of the VAT they have paid. For many associations, it can mean hundreds of thousands of kronor more in cash.
Associations can request that the Tax Authority reassesses their decisions retroactively five years back.
