Reduced fuel tax

Another temporary tax reduction of three kronor per litre, including VAT, for gasoline and diesel will be introduced between July and November. A previous tax relief was introduced for the period 1 May to 30 September and involved a reduction of 1 kronor per litre for gasoline and 0.40 kronor per litre for diesel.

More flexible rental

A new private rental law and new rules make it easier to rent out your condominium for a longer period of time. The Private Rental Act applies to condominiums and villas, not rental apartments. More flexible rent setting is also being introduced, but with a protective rule against overcharging.

Reduced fee for childcare

Families with children receive a reduced maximum fee with a tax exemption of SEK 10,000 for preschools and after-school centres. This means that SEK 10,000 is deducted from the household's income before the fee is calculated.

Reduced entrance VAT for dance bands

The VAT on admission to dance events will be reduced from 25 percent to 6 percent. This will bring it to the same VAT rate as tickets to circus performances, theatre, opera and ballet.

New cash law

Grocery stores and pharmacies must, with some exceptions, accept banknotes and coins. Banks will also be required to offer locations so that customers can more easily deposit cash at the bank.

Customs duty for online shopping

The duty-free limit that applied to goods up to 150 euros (around 1,600 SEK) is being removed and a new customs fee equivalent to three euros per item is being introduced for goods shipped from countries outside the EU.

Permanent tax exemption on electricity for charging at the workplace.

The temporary tax exemption for charging cars near the workplace, which has been in place for three years, will become permanent. The tax exemption also includes an expanded right to deduct fuel expenses for business trips, both with a company car and a private car.

New building regulations become permanent

After a transition period since last summer when the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's new building regulations came into effect in parallel with the previous ones, only the new building regulations will now apply. They mean more freedom and less detailed control for those who are going to build.
