The group includes all NATO countries except France. The group met in Brussels on Thursday, on the sidelines of the NATO defense ministers' meeting.
Members emphasize that strategic nuclear weapons are the most important part of NATO's security and deterrence. They agree to continue to strengthen the capability by modernizing it, improving the conditions for planning it, and adapting it to today's security environment.
NATO countries say they are committed to sharing the responsibilities, risks and burdens associated with common defense by investing in the resources, capabilities and forces required for NATO's nuclear mission and by demonstrating unity and determination.
