Daniel Svensson, Alexander Bernhardsson and Jordan Larsson get the chance. It is some of the changes national team coach Jon Dahl Tomasson makes after the 2–0 win against Hungary on Friday.

The player who starts the match against Algeria, kickoff at 19.00 on Strawberry arena:

12 Viktor Johansson – 2 Hjalmar Ekdal, 4 Isak Hien (k), 8 Daniel Svensson – 22 Alexander Bernhardsson, 20 Hugo Larsson, 18 Yasin Ayari, 14 Anton Salétros, 13 Ken Sema – 10 Benjamin Nygren, 26 Jordan Larsson.

On the bench: 1 Robin Olsen, 23 Kristoffer Nordfeldt, 5 Gabriel Gudmundsson, 6 Samuel Dahl, 7 Emil Holm, 15 John Mellberg, 16 Jesper Karlström, 17 Momodou Sonko, 19 Hugo Bolin, 21 Besfort Zeneli, 24 Victor Eriksson, 25 Axel Norén.

Svensson gets the trust

In the back line, Daniel Svensson gets the chance from the start on the left. Gabriel Gudmundsson, who played 90 minutes against Hungary, is not one hundred percent ready for the match.

”We take no risks with Gabriel. Daniel can play on different positions and now he gets this trust,” says Jon Dahl Tomasson to the federation's website

As right wingback, Alexander Bernhardsson starts.

The midfield trio of Hugo Larsson, Yasin Ayari and Anton Salétros, also started in Budapest and received high praise from Dahl Tomasson. He especially wants to see Hugo Larsson again. The midfielder has missed several national team matches for various reasons since "JD" took over as national team coach at the beginning of last year.

Benjamin Nygren starts his third consecutive national team match after his debut with a substitute appearance against Luxembourg in March.

Larsson back

By his side in the attack, he gets Jordan Larsson, who makes his first national team appearance since 2021.

”He has very good finishing and he is good at threatening in depth, which is needed to stretch the back line,” says the national team coach.

The match is the last before the World Championship qualification, which starts with away matches against Slovenia and Kosovo in September.

”We look forward to fine-tuning the last details before the autumn qualification,” says Jon Dahl Tomasson.
