The person suspected of murdering a 25-year-old woman in Salem was previously convicted of attempting to kidnap a girl.

The 26-year-old who was arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman in southwest Stockholm has now been remanded in custody on probable cause, suspected of murder and gross violation of the peace.

He has previously been convicted of attempting to kidnap a 10-year-old girl.

The incident occurred one afternoon in 2019 when the girl was on her way home from a leisure activity. Wearing a black face mask, the 26-year-old tried to pull the girl into a car, but she managed to escape.

When the police then conducted a search of his home, they found over 45,000 child pornography images and films. Autopsy images of women were also found.

According to the verdict, words such as “rape drug”, “how to rape” and “make someone unconscious” were found in the then 19-year-old person's search history.

During questioning, the suspect said the kidnapping was not planned, but that he had been feeling unwell for a long time and had thoughts of doing something stupid.

He was sentenced to two years and four months in prison for aggravated child pornography and attempted kidnapping.

While in prison, he was also convicted of threatening a female prison employee. The verdict states that he called the woman a “whore and a pussy” behind her back. It also states that he said that after his release he would sit outside the prison and “point at the staff”, which according to the prosecutor meant “shoot” in the context.

Before the incident, several other inmates raised the alarm that he was “saying strange things.”

In 2021, the 26-year-old was convicted of threatening an official, with a sentence of 21 days in prison.
