More and more people are being prosecuted for involving children and young people in crime.

In 2025, up to and including November, 200 people were prosecuted for the crime, which is a clear increase compared to last year, reports Sveriges Radio's Ekot.

It ranges quite widely: everything from being involved in petty thefts in grocery stores to committing serious acts of violence in preparation for murder and explosions, says Joakim Norenhag, business developer at NOA, to Ekot.

According to the police, the increase is partly due to more and more young people being recruited, and partly because the authorities have become better at using the law that was introduced in 2023.
