On X, Siri Steijer has attached the email she sent to SVT after the party leader debate. She refers, among other things, to the Center Party's party leader Anna-Karin Hatt, who pointed out that it "sounded like a leisure center when the Left Party's Nooshi Dadgostar time and time again spoke over the one who had the floor".
Steijer and The Moderate Party are now issuing an ultimatum:
"SVT must turn off Dadgostar's microphone during upcoming debates when she does not have the floor. If not, I will recommend that the Prime Minister does not participate in the future", Steijer writes.
The televised debate came to be characterized by several heated exchanges, including between Dadgostar and the Christian Democrats' party leader Ebba Busch.
In response to a question from SVT about whether he is hesitant to stand in the future, Ulf Kristersson says:
"A Prime Minister who spends his time on this when we have record-long waiting times in healthcare", replies the Left Party's communications director Anna Herdy, among other things. "It's unprofessional", she says in a written comment.
Michael Kucera, responsible publisher for SVT's Agenda, writes in a comment that it is unfortunate when debate participants interrupt each other.
He emphasizes at the same time that it is SVT and not the Government Offices that decide the debate format.
"We also believe that it is interesting for voters to see how their political representatives manage to talk to each other. It would be a big failing grade for Swedish politics if it requires SVT to turn off the sound".
