The close relatives of the minister should, according to Expo, which has gone through chats and posts in social media, have tried to recruit people to a white power organization and participated in activities with the Nazi and violence-approving Activist Club Sweden.
The activities are said to have taken place during the last year, starting last autumn.
Since the revelation, representatives of the government have been taciturn about what happened, among other things, with reference to the relative being a child.
Wants to be anonymous
Now the minister himself comments on the allegations in a written comment to TT, which comes via Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson's vice press secretary Hanna Strömberg. Strömberg does not tell TT which minister it is, the minister wants to be anonymous due to the relative's young age.
"Last week, I was told that a close relative in their early teens had been in the wrong circles. I abhor all forms of political extremism and strongly distance myself from it", says the minister and continues:
"I have had long and sincere conversations with the minor who is both remorseful and sad. All socializing in these circles is a closed chapter".
"Acted immediately"
The minister wants to be anonymous and the government does not want to confirm which minister it is, with reference to it being a sensitive matter due to the relative's young age.
The minister says further:
"I have since I gained knowledge of this acted immediately according to the security routines that apply. I have had close cooperation with the Security Police".
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (The Moderate Party) has not commented on the matter himself.
