46 people were arrested in connection with the operation, which began early on Tuesday, according to the police.
The police broke through the barricades built by the migrants and entered the historic 1800s theater Gaite Lyrique – at the same time as activists protested against the eviction on the street outside.
Many of the approximately 400 migrants are said to be minors, and a large part of them come from Africa south of the Sahara. They left the building carrying belongings and bags, some of them were met by representatives of Paris shelters.
The 46 arrested either resisted during the operation or were taken in for checks, according to Police Chief Laurent Nunez, who says that minor migrants will be provided with accommodations.
The occupation of the theater, which Nunez calls "a threat to public order", began on December 10.
Similar raids against migrants took place a year ago, ahead of the Olympic Games held in Paris in July and August.
