Åberg ended the day at a total of +8, and thus missed the qualifying limit by one stroke. The mistakes were present from the start, and after 15 holes, the world's sixth was at +6 with six bogeys.
The weak game had, however, an explanation – Ludvig Åberg had a migraine.
It's not the first time (he has a migraine), but now it's probably caused by the humid heat that is right now. We hope it subsides, but I see that he's struggling with it, said Åberg's coach Hans Larsson to Viaplay during the round.
Åberg received headache tablets from his fellow player Adam Scott during the game, but they helped little.
I stood over the ball and couldn't see my feet. It was the weirdest thing I've seen. I couldn't see the ball on the iron shot I hit from the fairway either, said Åberg to Aftonbladet.
Despite the tough conditions, Åberg had a birdie chance on holes 17 and 18 - but failed to sink the putts and thus missed the qualifying limit.
The competition's second Swede has also finished playing. Joakim Lagergren was noted for 80 strokes for the second round in a row and was a total of 13 strokes from clearing the qualifying limit.
The second round was interrupted on Friday due to bad weather and was only completed on Saturday. Sam Burns, USA, went the second round at 65 strokes and is a total of three under par. He leads by one stroke ahead of his compatriot JJ Spaun, and a further stroke ahead of Viktor Hovland, Norway.
