The 59-year-old man who was prosecuted for having planned in September last year to shoot Donald Trump, who was then a presidential candidate, on a golf course in Florida is convicted by an American jury.

The man was found guilty on all charges. Directly after the message, the 59-year-old tried to stab himself with a pen in the neck, but could quickly be overpowered by the police.

It was on September 15 last year that the bodyguard force Secret service discovered a rifle barrel sticking out through a fence aimed at the golf course in Florida where Trump was playing a round.

The man with the rifle fled when he was discovered and was arrested later. No shots against Trump were fired.

During the trial, the 59-year-old, who denies all allegations, has represented himself. During his opening speech, he was interrupted by the judge after talking about things that had nothing to do with the case.

In addition to attempted murder of presidential candidate Trump, the man, who lives in Hawaii, has been charged with, among other things, illegal possession of firearms and for insulting a federal police officer.

The 59-year-old risks life imprisonment. The verdict will be announced in December.

Donald Trump was subjected to another murder attempt in July last year, at a campaign meeting in Butler, Pennsylvania. Then a shooter opened fire, and Trump was injured in the ear and was led bleeding from the stage by his bodyguards.
