The father was killed outside his home on March 22 last year. It was the son himself who raised the alarm and claimed that his father was stabbed by two unknown perpetrators.
The Court of Appeal believes, just like the district court, that it has been proven that there were no other perpetrators at the crime scene and that it was the 29-year-old who committed the murder.
The court concludes that the father was subjected to severe suffering, as he was stabbed in both the front and back of his upper body. This also showed a clear intention that the father should die, believes the Court of Appeal.
“What is most complicating in this case is that the murder was committed by a son of the victim and that it occurred in close proximity to their shared residence,” says Anna Tansjö, one of the judges, in a press release from the Court of Appeal.
The man was also sentenced to life imprisonment in the district court.
