Men's violence against women will be the main focus of crime prevention in the next term, says the Moderate Party leader, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.
Since last spring, the Moderates have successively presented the various points in the programme, for example further tightened contact bans and a public offender registry.
Now the Moderates are proposing changes to the law to prevent men's "economic violence" against women. For example, not letting their partner use their money as they want, or manipulating or deceiving their partner in financial matters.
Laws should not be used to keep a partner in a relationship, says Minister of Social Services Camilla Waltersson Grönvall (M).
Expanded opportunities for divorce without a cooling-off period, even when children are involved, is a measure that the Moderates want to investigate.
Another measure is faster property division processes by giving property division investigators more tools when a spouse obstructs.
Another proposal is to review whether a formal requirement should be introduced for powers of attorney that apply to major financial commitments. This is to avoid women being forced to sign loans, for example, or having signatures forged.

Criminalize the distribution of offensive “deep fake” images online
Violence in close relationships should always lead to deportation for foreign citizens
Investigate a no-contact order that prevents the perpetrator from leaving a certain area
Perpetrators should be monitored and tracked in real time by the police
Investigate an open offender registry of people who have committed serious crimes in close relationships
Introduce a new crime - femicide (murder of women) with life imprisonment
Police should be allowed to use preventive restraints to prevent men's life-threatening violence against women
A violent man should be able to be taken into custody if there is an imminent risk of deadly violence.
In certain cases, the police should be obliged to warn potential crime victims about dangerous men.
