Culture Minister Parisa Liljestrand (M) is now responding to criticism from the trade union DIK over the government's reduced cultural investments.

She explains that the share of culture in the state budget has decreased amid "historical investments" in areas such as defense and the justice system. Liljestrand also says that cultural investments fall under the school budget area.

We are making enormous investments in children's and young people's right to education and culture by investing money in strengthening school libraries and purchasing fiction for schools, says Liljestrand on TV4's Nyhetsmorgon.

She also emphasizes that the government has invested in children and young people by strengthening creative schools and by investing in digital cultural schools, which she believes "will yield very good results for the children in Vilhelmina, for example."
