On Tuesday, a new revelation emerged regarding V. Last autumn, the party invited Palestinian politicians from Fatah, who had praised terrorists and martyrs, to the Riksdag, according to GP.
As recently as this weekend, V was forced to remove additional candidates from its parliamentary lists after they shared anti-Semitic or pro-Russian views.
The Social Democrats have reacted strongly to the revelations and reiterated that V has "a very long way to go" before it could sit in a government.
"Foul play"
Now Ida Gabrielsson, economic policy spokesperson for V, is counterattacking. She thinks S is engaging in "foul play."
Magdalena Andersson clearly said when we removed the candidates last spring that she thought we had handled it well. But suddenly, in the election rush, the tone has changed, she says.
She believes it is about S wanting to legitimise its rightward turn.
It is about not wanting to fulfil your election promises, perhaps, that you cannot stand your ground on the waiting period and welfare.
Social Democrats party leader Magdalena Andersson commented on Gabrielsson's remarks at a press conference:
Well, what can I say? It was one of the strangest conspiracy theories I've heard.
More conspiracy-prone
Regarding the latest revelation, Gabrielsson says that Fatah was invited as an organisation, not individuals.
No party does research on the people that organisation sends, she says.
Regarding the candidates who were previously removed, she says that they take it very seriously.
There is research that shows that people who are left-wing are more likely to embrace conspiracy theories than those in the middle of society, so we know that.
We've removed them all quickly. We hadn't found them before, so we definitely need to work better on that.
The Moderates claim that the revelations show "a rot" that has spread in V.
"There seems to be an ingrained anti-Semitism and I take that extremely seriously. Especially at a time when Jews are exposed, even in Sweden, to such severe pressure," says Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M).
