Niklas Kronwall has won World Championship and Olympic gold medals and lifted the Stanley Cup. Now the former big man will be inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation's Hall of Fame.

The 44-year-old is one of seven to be selected over the coming year, the federation writes. The ceremony will be held during the World Cup in Zurich, Switzerland in May.

Kronwall, who took his first skates in Järfälla and then went to Djurgården, played his entire 15-year NHL career in Detroit, where he was part of and won the Stanley Cup final in 2008. Two years earlier, he led Tre Kronor to Olympic and World Cup gold.

The Swede is selected together with Florence Schelling, Switzerland, Thomas Vanek, Austria, Cassie Campbell-Pascall, Canada, Andres Ambühl, Switzerland, Patrice Bergeron, Canada, and Swiss coach Ralph Krueger.
