Ulf Kristersson (The Moderate Party) has very few comments after charges have been brought against his former national security adviser Henrik Landerholm.
Now we have a legal process ahead of us and it must have its course. I can and will not interfere with it at all, says Kristersson.
The charges against Landerholm for gross negligence with confidential information are brought after an investigation by Säpo. The Government Offices' own investigation of the incidents did not lead to a police report.
Social Democrat Peter Hultqvist, chairman of the Riksdag's Defence Committee, has said that he cannot help but suspect that the Government Offices have tried to cover up the affair. But Kristersson protests against the description.
The Government Offices are not covering up anything at all, he says.
Landerholm is considered to have a solid CV for the job as national security adviser, but the recruitment has still received criticism since he and Kristersson are childhood friends.
Kristersson is sticking to that the recruitment was correct, with the information he had then.
Now the question will be tried in court, what actually happened. And I will not comment on it until there is a court ruling, he says.
