The image that symbolizes the entire World Championship came already the other day, when Norway won the men's relay in superior style.

The final stretch's Johannes Høsflot Klæbo was then so far ahead of everyone else that he could take a gigantic Norwegian flag already on the last hill, before he sailed in towards yet another World Championship gold in front of a fanatical home crowd.

"Completely indescribable"

This has been Klæbo's championship from the start. And on Saturday, he completed the seemingly impossible when he won the 50km and thus became the first skier in history to take all six golds at one and the same World Championship.

It's completely crazy. It's been incredibly intense days. And to finish like this, it feels completely indescribable, says Klæbo.

When the home favorite came in on the final stretch, the entire Granåsen exploded, and Norway's Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit screamed at the top of their lungs.

Chicken and rice

The finish became emotional for the main character himself. He has put everything aside and isolated himself to succeed in Trondheim. He mentions, among other things, the 150 travel days per year with his dad, who has cooked every meal for him – only chicken and rice for the past few months.

His girlfriend Pernille is one of those who has had to stand aside.

I don't think I'll do it again. I've had a pretty dull life, says Klæbo.

That's why this is so incredibly emotional for me. I've fought so hard. All these things combined, it's been enormously tough. But right now, it's worth all the sacrifices.
