Källström's title as football manager will be removed in the new organization presented to the staff, something Expressen was the first to report.
The association has been reviewing the activities that the previous general secretary Andrea Möllerberg introduced for some time. The change now concerns the football department.
"We divide it into two parts. There are two main missions and one is to win matches with our national teams and the other is about developing and educating players," Simon Åström tells TV4 Football Channel.
The idea is that Kim Källström will become national team manager with responsibility for the A-national teams, U21, U23, materials and events. Then we will have a development department with a now vacant role as development manager, who will take responsibility for education, football and player development and the youth national team. Our view is that this is a better way to organize the operations for the best of Swedish football.
Incoming Secretary General Niclas Carlnén will be tasked with recruiting a development manager.
He will take office in January.
"Now it is important to emphasize that the board has made a policy decision on this and we have then informed the staff. After that, union negotiations remain," Åström tells TV4 Football Channel.
