"We have never been more important than now. As children's reading declines, encounters with stories play a crucial role in children's language, imagination and empathy," Kajsa Medin Hansen, CEO of Barnkulturhuset, says in a press release.
During the year, a "jubilant anniversary" will be organized together with the Swedish Children's Book Institute. In the spring, there will be a premiere for a new play exhibition, and during the summer holidays a completely newly written theatre performance will premiere.
In addition, a special anniversary gift is awarded to preschool and school classes that visit the educational activities.
