The package is intended to increase the ability of municipalities and regions to carry out their tasks even during times of heightened alert and war. This could include, for example, stockpiling food and fuel and purchasing larger power generators.
The Civil Defence Agency (MCF) will be responsible for purchasing equipment and distributing funds to the municipalities. Almost 500 million will go to priority municipalities. The list of involved municipalities is secret, but it includes fewer than 100, according to MCF.
