Sweden fought their way to a victory against Ukraine. A bit quietly, Jamina Roberts passed the milestone of 700 national team goals. I found out about it kind of during the match, says the national team star.

Those who are a bit more knowledgeable about statistics were aware of it already beforehand. Jamina Roberts needed four goals to reach the milestone – and succeeded with exactly that many in the European Championship qualifier against Ukraine (33–25).

However, she is personally less interested in her own records than in the team's various achievements.

I don't think about it. It's not something I focus on, but I've promised myself to try to enjoy it while I'm in it, says the 35-year-old.

I usually always answer otherwise that it's something you'll look back on and be proud of later. But I'm trying to take the opportunity to enjoy it a bit now too.

Roberts is only the fifth Swede to reach over 700 goals – but has a good bit left to the others. The list is topped by Mia Hermansson-Högdahl (1,153), Åsa Mogensen (1,108), Nathalie Hagman (954) and Bella Gulldén (846).

"Not prepared"

Jamina Roberts' four goals came in a match where Sweden had to fight unexpectedly much with the opposition.

Ukraine should normally be a few levels worse, but stood up well in Alingsås and stressed not least the Swedish attacking game in the match start.

At the same time, the national team captain Tomas Axnér tested new formations, emphasizes Jamina Roberts.

Ukraine does well and plays an incredibly offensive and aggressive defense that we may not be entirely prepared for, she says.

But we also played in new constellations, those of us who started together had probably not played together before at all.

"Little bit left"

The European Championship qualifier continues away against Lithuania on Sunday. Already now, both the leadership and many players also have the World Championship in mind.

When it starts at the end of November, the Swedish game needs to be better, admits Jamina Roberts.

Yes, this says that we have a little bit left. But now we play in a bit new constellations, so some things we choose today may not fit against this opposition, she says.

So it's clear that in a match against another opponent, where we are a bit less favorites beforehand, I think we might set it up in a different way.
