The air alarm went off in, among other places, Jerusalem in connection with the Israeli air defense discovering the rocket. It could then be shot down, according to a statement from Israel's military.
The attack from Yemen follows Israel's implementation of an air raid against "military infrastructure" belonging to the Iran-backed Houthi movement in the port city of al-Hudayda a few hours earlier.
The Israeli military had, prior to the port attack, urged evacuation of the area.
According to Israel, the port is used by the Houthi rebels to "transfer weapons from the Iranian regime, with the aim of carrying out attacks against the state of Israel and its allies".
A spokesperson for the Houthi movement stated in social media that the rebels' air defense shot at "the Israeli aircraft".
The Houthi government, which has control over large parts of Yemen, has joined the side of the Palestinian terrorist-stamped Hamas in the Gaza war and sends, among other things, rockets and drones against Israel.
In response, Israel has continuously attacked infrastructure such as ports, power plants, and the international airport in the capital Sanaa. Israel has recently escalated and in August, the Houthi prime minister Ahmed al-Rahawi and other leaders were killed.
al-Hudayda is war-torn Yemen's most important port.
