The government's investigator Peter Norman wants to make it cheaper to travel to and from Arlanda Airport by giving Arlanda Express tougher competition, reports Dagens industri.
More trains should be able to go to Arlanda C and drop off people. I also believe it's possible to lower the prices of the commuter train, which is very expensive today, says Peter Norman to the newspaper.
Norman, who has submitted a partial report to the government, wants the state to appoint a negotiator who will negotiate with Arlanda Express owner A-train to achieve more frequent and cheaper communication between Stockholm and Arlanda.
However, it is not an option for the state to take over Arlanda Express, as it is not allowed according to EU rules, says Norman to the newspaper.
The investigator also proposes upgrades to the signaling system, yards, and platforms at stations along the way to Arlanda, writes Di.
The final report is to be submitted at the end of May 2025.
