Goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterström and centre-back Isak Hien are also injured and are not in the squad that national team head coach Graham Potter presented on Wednesday.
The Englishman also said that he has chosen not to select AIK's 37-year-old veteran goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt, and instead test some younger talent. Viktor Johansson, whom Potter sees as the team's first-choice goalkeeper, will therefore be joined by Melker Ellborg and Noel Törnqvist in the goalkeeping department.
Potter has also selected two debutants in Hammarby defender Hampus Skoglund and Lech Poznan winger Patrik Wålemark.
Wålemark, 24, is one of the players who could potentially fill the gap left by the injured Anthony Elanga.
"He's had a really good start to the season. We've been watching him for a while, but he's taken another step," Potter said.
Left out of the squad, just as in the World Cup, are Hugo Larsson and Williot Swedberg.
The national football team gathers next week to play four matches in eleven days. The blue and yellow team will start against Romania and Poland at home at the national stadium in Solna, before away matches against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Romania await.
The World Cup gave us valuable experience, which showed what we do well but also what we need to develop, says Graham Potter.
Sweden plays in the B division together with Romania, Poland and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The winner is promoted to the A division and fourth place is relegated to the C division.
For second and third place, promotion/relegation matches await in March 2027.
