After the morning's xylene leak, measurements now show that all values are at low, approved levels.
"If you have a booked visit with us at Gävle hospital today or if you need to seek emergency care, you can do so as usual", says Susanna Björklund, deputy healthcare director, in a press release.
The police and rescue services were alerted to the hospital at half past eight. It concerned the hazardous substance xylene, which is used, among other things, in industrial solvents.
"We have evacuated the affected areas and no one has been injured. Since xylene has a strong smell, we were able to detect early on that something was wrong and take action", said Emma Erixon, head of laboratory medicine, in a comment earlier on Tuesday.
According to the hospital, the leak occurred in the pathology department and the wake-up ward. Earlier, the hospital stated that the pathology department would not have any operations during the day and that the wake-up ward had been moved to another department.
