The former head of the morgue at Harvard Medical School was previously sentenced to eight years in prison for trafficking in stolen internal organs, brains, hands and dissected heads. Six other people were convicted of involvement.

On Wednesday, Harvard announced that it had reached a settlement worth the equivalent of SEK 500 million in a Boston court for compensation to relatives.

The university's medical faculty receives bodies donated by relatives. The bodies are used in autopsies and research - and then cremated or returned to relatives.
