The court thus partially ruled in favor of Meta in an appeal against the definitions the Commission used in introducing the EU's new Digital Markets Act (DMA). For online services considered particularly significant, stricter requirements for transparency and accessibility apply.
However, in its ruling on Wednesday, the EU Court of Justice found that the Commission had based its definition of Marketplace on insufficient and hypothetical information.
At the same time, Meta's appeal regarding the definition of the Messenger service was rejected.
