Häcken has 46 points after 20 played matches and leads with one point ahead of Hammarby in the tight top struggle. Malmö is four points behind in third place and fourth Djurgården is six points behind.
After a fairly locked first half, Häcken made the winning shot after the break.
Anna Anvegård headed in the leading goal in the 48th minute and 14 minutes later, Alice Bergström could make it 2-0 with a shot that went via Malmö defender Courtney Nevin and in an arc over goalkeeper Moa Öhman.
Tabitha Tindell established 3-0 in the 85th minute.
So damn nice that we can go out in the second half and show where things are at, says Bergström to Viaplay.
Tough injury for Malmö
Malmö kept Häcken's 18-year-old super talent and top scorer Felicia Schröder, 27 goals so far, goalless – but it was not enough.
The successful newcomer created some chances, but national team goalkeeper Jennifer Falk kept a clean sheet in the top match at Eleda stadium.
Not only did MFF suffer a loss, the team also got offensive spearhead Tuva Skoog, 7 goals and 19 goal-scoring passes, injured in the first half. She grabbed the back of her thigh and had to leave the pitch on a stretcher.
In the 56th minute, both teams held their breath when top scorer Felicia Schröder and Malmö goalkeeper Moa Öhman collided in the penalty area in a 50-50 duel. Both needed treatment, but got up after a while and could continue.
"Like a final"
With six rounds left, Häcken has taken control of the SM gold, but the team has two more top matches left on the schedule – both Hammarby at home (11 October) and Djurgården away (8 November).
We've talked about how every match now is like a final, says Alice Bergström.
