The last time Adam Lundkvist scored a goal on Swedish soil was on April 3, 2016. Then, in an Elfsborg jersey against Häcken.
Now the left-back has struck again. But this time for Häcken.
The 30-year-old decided the cup semifinal against IFK Norrköping with his 2–1 goal, and thus sent Häcken to the cup final.
In stoppage time of the first half, Lundkvist, who joined Sweden and Häcken before last season after a long stint in the USA, scored on a half-volley after a chaotic situation in Norrköping's penalty area. And the shot was unstoppable.
But according to the goal-scorer himself, the full hit was not much to brag about.
Hehe, I'd say it's maximum luck, says Lundkvist in TV4 Play.
The left-back has only been credited with five goals during his senior career. The last one came during last autumn's European Championship qualifying against Estonian Paide, but on Swedish soil, he hasn't scored a goal in almost nine years.
Late in the second half, Samuel Leach Holm would also establish the final score, when he scored 3–1.
The final will be played on May 29, and Häcken will face either Malmö or IFK Göteborg. The other semifinal will be played later on Sunday.
