Daniel Ståhl did not impress in Monday's qualifying in the men's discus. The 31-year-old advanced as eighth among the twelve finalists with a throw of 65.16 meters. However, as the reigning Olympic champion (Tokyo 2021) and World Champion (Budapest 2023), he should not be counted out in the final, which begins at 20.25. On Tuesday evening, they defeated second-seeded Germany 3–0 in matches in the quarterfinal and it is the first time Sweden has played an Olympic semifinal in the team event, which was introduced to the program in 2008.
