There has been great concern among fans who feared that "GTA VI" would cost 1,000 kronor for the base version. But on Wednesday, it was confirmed that the game will be released in two editions: a base version for 899 kronor and an "Ultimate Edition" for 1,149 kronor.
Many players have said the price increase is justified after 13 years of development, while others have been outraged. The "physical" version contains only a code in a box and no disc, which many dislike. The "Ultimate Edition" also features in-game exclusive shops for clothing, tattoos, styling and vehicle customization, which has sparked criticism and speculation about what content is locked for those who buy the base version of the game.
"After everything Rockstar did to milk 'GTA V' for money, I expected a lot of crap, but this honestly surpasses anything I could have imagined. This is garbage," wrote one of the top comments on a Reddit post about the exclusive stores.
"GTA VI" will be released on November 19.
