Yesterday, both Europe and most of the US stock exchanges closed in the red. But overnight, things turned around in Asia, with the stock exchanges in both Tokyo and Hong Kong up in the morning Swedish time.
Stockholm and the major European stock exchanges were initially on the rise. But at 12:30, the broad OMXS index was trading at minus 0.4 percent.
Among the losers on the heavyweight list, OMXS30, are Atlas Copco, SKF and Sandvik, down 1-1.5 percent. At the other end, mining company Boliden and defense group Saab are up 2.5 and 1.5 percent, respectively.
In the US, futures trading indicates rising prices when trading opens this afternoon.
Oil prices have risen slightly from yesterday's lows since the US imposed oil sanctions on Venezuela. A barrel of North Sea oil now costs just over $60.
