The government is investing 9.7 million kronor in a service center for Ukrainian war refugees in Sweden.

The center will be a physical gathering place for the approximately 47,000 Ukrainians in Sweden under the EU's mass evacuation directive and will be run in collaboration with Swedish and Ukrainian authorities.

Here Ukrainians will be able to receive support and information about living in Sweden, and about developments in Ukraine, which, according to the government, will facilitate their return.

The government has tasked the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) with establishing and running the center, which is scheduled to open this summer.

"Swedish support for Ukraine is not only about supporting the country politically, militarily and economically, but also about supporting the Ukrainian people," says Migration Minister Johan Forssell in a press release.
