As already presented, 250 million kronor per year will be invested in 2026 and 2027 in sports facilities, in new construction and renovations.
As part of a larger package of measures to strengthen the conditions for children and young people in disadvantaged areas, the government is investing 90 million per year in 2026−2028 to increase swimming skills in those areas.
On the other hand, 14 million kronor will be withdrawn for the sports movement's work in socioeconomically weak areas. In addition, support for the elderly will be reduced as the project Sports 65+ will receive a reduced grant from 70 to 20 million kronor, writes the Swedish Sports Confederation (RF) in a press release.
