In the World Cup, the drinks break is three minutes, while at the Gothia Cup it will last only 30 seconds.
"There will be a 30-second break in each half with the opportunity for all players and referees to drink fluids," Gothia Cup writes on its website.
Weather reports indicate that the temperature in Gothenburg could rise to around 30 degrees on Wednesday, which has prompted the tournament to take action.
Gothia Cup takes place between July 13 and 18.
